Mullins (Vincennes, Ind./Lincoln) finished with three goals and two assists as the Pomeroys rolled to a 5-3 win to open the 2022 season.

SMWC sophomore Kennedy Trigg (Greencastle, Ind./Greencastle) scored her first goal in the 61st minute on an assist by Mullins.
Mullins then set up Kaylee Lowe (Brazil, Ind./Northview) in the 69th minute. She got her third goal of the night in the 70th minute for a 5-2 lead for SMWC.
Wesleyan picked up a goal in the 88th minute to cut the final margin to 5-3.
"It took the team a while to calm down and find their chemistry," coach Ron Kiernicki said. "Once we settled down and started making better first touches, the team chemistry started flowing. The freshmen had to find their legs, their nerves showed in the first half."
SMWC returns to action Thursday at home against Anderson University in the first of six straight home games for the Pomeroys.
