SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball hits the road for a 4-game series in Arkansas this weekend.  The Pomeroys stand 1-3 on the season after competing against four nationally regarded NAIA softball programs in Kansas City last weekend.

SMWC SOFTBALL NOTES:
* SMWC has qualified for the NAIA National Tournament during both seasons of its NAIA and River States Conference era.  The Pomeroys finished 36-16 (18-8 RSC) in 2023 after compiling a 29-14 record (19-7 RSC) in 2022.
* Graduate student first baseman Lyric Krause and seniors Jaselyn Conn (shortstop) and Summer Rocha (P) bring the most experience back to the 2024 softball roster.
* Krause has appeared in 118 games at SMWC with career totals of 121 hits, 34 doubles, 11 home runs, 50 runs scored and 101 RBIs.
* Conn has appeared in 106 games with career totals of 96 hits, 87 runs scored, 30 doubles, 7 home runs and 49 stolen bases (including 26 stolen bases in 2023).
* Rocha has a career record of 29-12 at SMWC with a 2.58 ERA and 173 strikeouts in 303.1 innings pitched.
* The 2024 Pomeroys have been led offensively by Abbi Henderson with a .357 batting average; Ruby Gray with a .400 on-base percentage; and Rocha with a 1-1 record, 1.00 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched.
* SMWC opens the 2024 home season on Wednesday Feb. 28 with a 3 pm doubleheader against Harris-Stowe State University.
