FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball team (12-12) again split their doubleheader yesterday, this time against Indiana Institute of Technology (9-11). The team struggled in game 1, falling 2-7 but rallied in the evening game 8-6 to split on the day.

Game #23 | at Indiana Institute of Technology | L 2-7

SMWC couldn't get any offense going in the first two innings and despite Indiana Tech making some noise early, they would take a commanding 5-0 lead in the 2^nd on a string of errors, walks, and singles. A Brooke Coffing single in the 4^th would score Jaselyn Conn and get the Pomeroys on the board, but each team would trade runs moving forward and SMWC would fall 2-7 to start the day.

Game #24 | at Indiana Institute of Technology | W 8-6

Indiana Tech once again got the scoring started when an RBI single in the bottom of the 1^st gave them a 1-0 lead. They would then tack on four more runs in the 3^rd on some solid gap hitting. SMWC wasn't going down without a fight as they started the 4^th with a single by Cameron Scott, a double by Josie Lord, and a 2 RBI single by Kelsey Young. Zoie Penn would reach on an error and Ariel Spivey would bring Young into score on a single. Katrina Strow and Jaselyn Conn would bring one each and SMWC would tie the game at 5-5. Cameron Scott's triple in the 6^th would give SMWC the lead and Adyson Baber would sit Indiana Tech down in the 6^th and 7^th to secure the win 8-6.

Pomeroy Player-of-the-Game: Cameron Scott, who hit a two-out triple in the 6^th inning to drive in two runs and give the Pomeroys the lead and ultimately the game.
