Pomeroys pick up RSC road win over Grenadiers

Box Score NEW ALBANY -- Sophomore Allyson Hardiek had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to a 61-58 victory against IU Southeast. 
"We learned tonight how to finish games," coach Terry Bowe said. "All season we have played well for 37 minutes and teh final three minutes cost us." 
The Pomeroys (7-1, 1-1 RSC) rallied within 30-29 at halftime behind a 3-point play from Hardiek with three seconds remaining on the first-half clock. 
The Pomeroys maintained momentum to start the third quarter. Hardiek scored in the paint and Abby Worley set up Sydney Ingram for a 3-pointer for a 37-32 lead for the Pomeroys at the 7:06 mark of the third quarter. 
A Hardiek bucket followed by a 3-pointer by Madison White made it 42-34. 
The Pomeroys finished the third quarter in strong fashion. Worley hit a 3-pointer with 1:10 remaining and Hardiek converted a layup for a 51-41 edge going into the fourth quarter.
The hosts made their big run to start the fourth, evening the score at 51 with 6:55 remaining. 
Brooklynn Jones hit a 3-pointer and a layup for a 56-51 lead. Hardiek answered a layup by IUS with one of her own with 2:30 remaining. 
A jumper by Worley with 1:02 left provided the Pomeroys' final points of the game and the SMWC defense held strong. 
Worley and Jones added 11 points apiece for SMWC. 
"We got great production off the bench from Savannah Frye and Allyson Hardiek had a solid game on both ends; it was a good tough road win," Bowe said.
