Box Score BATAVIA, OHIO -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods women's basketball will head into the holiday break with a three-game winning streak after defeating UC-Clermont on Wednesday.
Head coach Terry Bowe's squad had its usual balanced scoring performances to hold on for an 82-78 victory.
Brooklynn Jones led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Abby Worley and
Avalee Jeffers posted 14 points apiece and
Savvanah Frye reached double figures for the second straight night with 13 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.
Abbi Parker and
Allyson Hardiek had eight points apiece.
Kylee Stepp chipped in five points and three steals off the bench.
The Pomeroys led the majority of the game, taking a 34-31 edge into halftime and a 57-51 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
The Pomeroys extended their lead to 13 with 6:24 to go, but UC-Clermont rallied to pull even in the final minute.
Jeffers and Jones converted to hold off the home team.
"We've got to learn how to finish and convert our defensive pressure into points," coach Terry Bowe said. "We got great minutes again from Savvanah and it was a great effort from Avalee and Brooklynn."
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (9-3) visits Ohio Christian University on Jan. 3.
