Pomeroys fall to Rose-Hulman

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods freshman Sierra Mullins made a determined effort to even the score in the 38th minute, but Rose-Hulman pulled away for a 5-1 victory with four second-half goals Tuesday.
SMWC (1-1-1) suffered its first loss as Camille Clark put the Engineers ahead 2-1 in the 65th minute and Sarah Shoemaker scored goals in the 83rd and 84th minutes to put the match away.
SMWC fought through some hardships. Co-captain Kaylee Thaler was forced to sit out the second half after suffering a pre-game ankle injury. Freshman Lauren Rindone took over at goalkeeper in the second half for her first collegiate action.
Mullins' goal was her fourth of the season through three matches.
The Pomeroys return to action Saturday against Harris Stowe.
