The SMWC women's volleyball team ran its record to 22-3 with wins over Franklin College and Harris-Stowe State on Thursday in Hamilton Arena.
The Pomeroys put their depth on display in the two victories.
Eight different players had at least six kills in one of the two matches.
Hannah Zuege and
Madison Hill had eight kills apiece,
Karla Melendez seven and
Raymiah Allen six in the 25-14, 25-14, 25-16 win against Franklin College.
In the nightcap,
Tori Schopmeyer led the way with 13 kills, while freshman
Ina Grbic added eight kills.
Holly Linville and
Sofia Soto added seven apiece.
Alexis Keoho had a double-double with 42 assists and 10 digs in addition to two blocks in the 25-14, 18-25, 25-15, 25-15 victory over Harris-Stowe that improved the Pomeroys to 22-3 overall this season.
"I think that in the second set we lost ourselves. After coming together and figuring things out, we gained our confidence back," said Keoho, a native of Hawaii. "This team has so much talent. We're always fighting for that one spot on the court. It doesn't matter who's on the court. We're all capable of pulling through."
SMWC returns to action at home Saturday against Ohio Christian.
