Pomeroys climb to fifth in RSC with 7-1 win at IUPUC

Five different players scored Thursday as SMWC improved to 3-2-2 in the River States Conference with a 7-1 victory at IUPUC, climbing to fifth in the league standings heading into Saturday's home game with sixth-place Shawnee State.
Kaylee Lowe opened the scoring in the 13th minute, then freshman Claire Donald scored on an assist by Kennedy Trigg less than two minutes later. 
Trigg set up Raelee Everhart in the 21st minute to put the Pomeroys ahead 3-0. 
Sophomore Sierra Mullins found the back of the net for her sixth goal of the season in the 31st minute. Donald converted her second goal of the game - and the season - just over four minutes before halftime to put the Pomeroys ahead 5-0. 
Everhart scored on an assist by Mullins in the 51st minute, and Trigg scored her seventh goal of the season in the 75th minute. 
The Pomeroys will go for a third straight victory Saturday.
