SMWC shot 53.8 percent from the field and gave first-year head coach Jesse McClung his first victory with the Pomeroys on Wednesday night at the University of Cincinnati Clermont by a score of 89-84.
Greg Jenkins had 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Pomeroys, who built a double-digit lead early in the second half after leading 45-38 at halftime.
Cobie Barnes had 20 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Freshman Sean Tupuola went 7 for 7 from the field for 14 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Chaz Birchfield also reached double-figures with 10 points, adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
DaMeriz Merriweather scored 12 points, four assists and three steals.
SMWC outrebounded UC-Clermont 42-26.
SMWC played without starting guard
Tarik Dixon, who was held out for precautionary reasons. He could return Saturday when SMWC visits No. 24 Lourdes.
