Saint Mary-of-the-Woods battled back within four at halftime to counter Midway's strong start Saturday, but the host Eagles pullled away in the second half for an 88-62 victory agianst the Pomeroys.
The loss drops SMWC to 14-10 overall and 6-10 in the RSC with two games remaining.Â
Brooklynn Jones led SMWC with 16 points, connecting on 7 of 9 from the field.
Kylee Stepp and
Avalee Jeffers joined her in double figures with 13 points apiece.
Jeffers had four steals to move her within two of second place on SMWC's all-time steals leaderboard.
SMWC shot 37.5 percent overal despite hitting 83.3 percent in the second quarter. Midway connected on 53 percent overall, while connecting on 8 of 20 (40 percent) from 3-point range. Semaj Adams poured in 22 points to go with nine rebounds and four steals.Â
