Box Score Saint Mary-of-the-Woods women's basketball matched the third best record in school history with the marquee win of the season Saturday against Oakland City.
The Pomeroys (16-10, 8-10 River States Conference) rallied from a 36-26 halftime deficit for an 82-76 victory against the Mighty Oaks. The Pomeroys shot 18 of 31 (56 percent) in the second half to put up 56 points in the final two quarters.Â
Avalee Jeffers celebrated her Senior Day with a 14-point performance. She added three steals to move into second place on the SMWC career list. Jeffers, who ranks second in career rebounds at SMWC, chipped in four boards.Â
Brionna Sims tied for team-high honors with 14 points.
Brooklynn Jones added 13 points and
Kylee Stepp added 12.Â
Destiny Thomas came up with eight big points off the bench with all eight coming in the second half.
SMWC enters River States Conference Tournament play Monday at Point Park.Â
