Saint Mary-of-the-Woods settled for a split at Carlow on Wednesday, falling 7-6 and rebounding for a 5-1 victory.
The Pomeroys are 17-13 overall and 7-7 in the River States Conference.
Game 1
The Pomeroys gave up four runs in the bottom of the seventh of the opener to fall by a 7-6 score. Starter
Lanna Martinez gave up the first two runs in the seventh when Hannah Gallagher legged out a two-out, infield single and Morgan Pierce followed with a two-run homer.
Summer Rocha came on in relief and gave up back-to-back singles to allow Carlow to plate the game-winning run.
The Pomeroys built a 4-1 lead after two innings.
Rylee Pender picked up an RBI on a sacririce fly in the second and
Tori Lee doubled to score
Justyce Rohrabaugh. Lee came home on an error. The Pomeroys added another unearned run in the fourth.
In the sixth,
Mikayla Mills continued to swing a hot bat with an RBI double to score
Jasmine Kinzer.
Mills went 2 for 2 and Lee was 2 for 3.
Camryn Scott and Crawford also had doubles.
Game 2
Jaleigh Crawford went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs and a stolen base, and
Lyric Krause homered to lead SMWC to a 5-1 victory in the nightcap.
Summer Rocha (8-7) scattered three hits over seven innings to pick up the win in the pitching circle.
Rylee Pender went 2 for 3.
Camryn Scott added two stolen bases.
