SMWC had its second most steals in a game this season and held Brescia to 31.3 percent shooting to pull away in the second half for a 59-41 River States Conference women's basketball victory.
The Pomeroys had nine of their 21 steals in the third quarter to take a 43-23 lead.
Destiny Thomas, who led the Pomeroys with six steals, connected on a 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 run to start the second half for SMWC. The Pomeroys finished the third quarter on a 12-0 run that included a 3-pointer by
Abby Worley.
Irye Gomez had a team-high 15 points and four steals. Jones chipped in 12 points and five steals.
Allyson Hardiek had six points, a team-best five rebounds and two blocked shots.
The Pomeroys (13-8, 8-3 RSC) return home to face RSC-West Division leader Oakland City on Saturday at 1 p.m.
