RECENT GAMES
 SMWC has lost three of its past four games following Wednesday night's 77-72 loss to Ohio Christian. 
     The Pomeroys were without leading scorer/rebounder Madison Fueger (14.2 ppg, 8.0 rpg) in the game due to injury.
     Brooklynn Jones poured in 20 first-half points, and Irye Gomez led a third-quarter rally from a double-digit deficit. But the Pomeroys were unable to finish out for the victory, shooting 3 of 18 in the fourth quarter.

JONES ON TARGET
      After a slow start to the season through four games (5.4 ppg), Brooklynn Jones is averaging 12.4 ppg overall and hitting 54.7 percent from the field over the past 11 games. 
     Jones was 10 of 20 from the field Wednesday night to go with 10 rebounds and five assists.

3 and D
      Irye Gomez is 51st in the NAIA with 31 made 3-pointers. She's also 61st in steals with 30. 
      Gomez is averaging 11.4 ppg for the Pomeroys.

BLOCKS LEADER
    Allyson Hardiek became the all-time leader at SMWC in blocked shots with 149. Hardiek is averaging 1.7 blocks per game this season.  She also holds the single-season record with 81 in 2021-22 and for a single-game with 11 vs. Brescia. 

TAKE IT AWAY
    The Pomeroys rank 29th in the NAIA in steals per game with an average of 12.1 steals. 
    Gomez leads the team with 2.2 per game, followed by Fueger (2.0), Abby Worley (1.6), Jones (1.6) and Destiny Thomas (1.4). 

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
   Rio Grande leads the nation in scoring at 100.9 points-per-game. The Red Storm are shooting 51 percent overall and 39.2 percent from 3-point range. 
Rio Grande has lost two of three, dropping two non-conference games to Pikeville and Spring Arbor before defeating IU Kokomo (3-9, 0-3) on Wednesday by a score of 104-56. 
Junior guard Kaylee Darnell leads the Red Storm in scoring at 19.1 ppg, and senior Reagan Willingham adds 16.1 per game.
