The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Sprint Football Program earned numerous honors today for the Midwest Sprint Football League as the conference office has announced the postseason honor roll. Jeremiah Tosky and Marques Reese headline the selections for the Pomeroys who recently completed their third year of competition under the direction of head coach Blaine Powell.

The Pomeroys put together a 7-1 record this season and earned their second consecutive MSFL Regular Season Championship by going through the six game slate undefeated and earning the league's No. 1 seed in the playoffs. They defeated Midway (Ky.) in the league semifinals before falling in their third consecutive MSFL Championship Game appearance in as many years.

Tosky is the 2024 MSFL Offensive Player of the Year following another outstanding season in Terre Haute. Tosky's 2,022 passing yards led the league while his 21 TD passes also finished tops in the MSFL. A 3-time MSFL Player of the Week, Tosky led the league with a 167.7 passer rating in 2024.

Marques Reese of SMWC is the 2024 MSFL Special Teams Player of the Year. Reese averaged over 55 yards per kickoff return including a pair of scores on kickoffs this season!

Trevor Busse of Calumet College of St. Joseph was named the league's defensive player of the year while Jay Novak earned the league's coach of the year honor.

Tosky and Reese were All-MSFL Offensive First Team selections as the Pomeroys tied Bellarmine for the most representatives this season. Joining them were Corbyn Cleveland, Derron Hazzard and Devron Johnson. Lane Sluder and Kyle Vernalson were All-MSFL Second Team selections.

On defense, Kerry Lacey, Austin Petrillo and Joshua Wence All-MSFL First Team selections. Wence was also a top candidate for the MSFL Defensive Player of the Year honor. Nic Crone and Peyton Metzger -- who recorded an extremely rate defensive two-point conversion in the win at Quincy -- were named to the All-MSFL Defense Second Team.

Reese who was the MSFL Special Teams Player of the Year was also a 2024 All-MSFL Special Teams First Team selection.

Each league head coach received one vote for MSFL Coach, Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Special Teams Player of the Year. The all-conference teams were also selected by league coaches who nominated their own players and then ranked the Top 28 players in the league on offensive and defense as well as the top six performers in special teams. After all the votes were received, the league office honored the top vote getters in all three phases of game. Ties were not broken, everyone who received enough votes in the rankings have been honored this season.

The 2024 MSFL Champions of Character Team was also selected by the league head coaches with two selections per institution. Our Champions of Character Team honors the top players for each league member who excelled this season on the field, in the classroom and in the community. For SMWC, Payton Harris and Samson Ajao were selected to represent the Pomeroys.
