LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball team earned a pair of victories on Saturday (Aug. 24) afternoon at the Haskell Indian Nations University Tri-Match.
The Pomeroys opened the day with a hard fought 3-2 victory over the home team -- Haskell Indian Nations University. The set scores were 21-25, 25-18, 23-25 before the Pomeroys roared back with a 25-18 win in the fourth set and took the decider by the score of 15-11.

In the day's second match, SMWC swept Mission University by scores of 25-12, 25-21 and 25-20.
SMWC is now 4-0 on the young season while Haskell dropped its first match of the year to fall to 2-1 and it was the season opener for Mission.
The Woods now turn their attention to The Showdown At The Woods presented by the Terre Haute Convention & Visitors Bureau. The action takes place inside the Knoerle Center on August 30 & 31. On Friday, the Pomeroys will face Franklin at 11 a.m. (ET); Governors State at 4 p.m. (ET) and concludes the day against Clark University at 7 pm (ET). On Saturday, the matches continue against Lourdes University at 2 pm (ET) and Boyce College at 6 pm (ET).
