GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team dropped a 5-2 decision to DePauw on Tuesday night (Sept. 24) after the game was moved to a road contest due to the heavy rain in the area over the last 48 hours.
SMWC fell to 1-4-2 on the season while DePauw improved to 5-4-1.
DePauw took a lead in the 20th minute, but
Kennedy Trigg continued her hot offensive streak going with a shot high into the back of the net in the 26th minute off the assist from
Lois Carr to level the contest at 1. DePauw would take a 3-1 lead early in the second half but
Claire Donald scored in the 75th minute off the assist from Trigg to get the Pomeroys within 3-2. The Tigers would score two more goals late for the 5-2 victory.
Dree Wilson played the entire contest in goal for SMWC and recorded eight saves.
Trigg led the way offensively by recording two of the Pomeroy's five shots on goal.
SMWC returns to action on Saturday, September 28 when they host Oakland City at the SMWC Soccer Complex. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. (ET).
