Assistant Men's and Women's Track & Field Coach | 2019 - Present

Craig Gillaspy was hired as Assistant Men's and Women's Track & Field Coach on January 24, 2019. Gillaspy works primarily with the Pomeroys jumpers and is in charge of the strength and conditioning portion of the T&F program. 


Professional Experience

Gillaspy was a three-sport student-athlete at Crothersville High School (Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field). At Crothersville, he earned 11 varsity letters while he was High Point Scorer for two seasons straight. With his passion for athletics, he developed a love for sports performance and training, which encouraged him to study Exercise Science in college.

Upon graduating from CHS, he earned a Track & Field scholarship to NCAA Divison II, University of Indianapolis. As a Greyhound, Gillaspy was one of the best in both the high jump and long jump field events. In this role, he achieved varsity letters for two years. By his junior year, Gillaspy transferred to Indiana State University and hung up his track & field cleats to focus on Exercise Science. In 1999, he graduated from ISU with his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.


Personal

Craig works at Union Health in downtown Terre Haute. He is a Sports Performance & Fitness Specialist training a variety of numerous student-athletes in the Wabash Valley. 

Gillaspy was born in Crothersville, Indiana, on September 11, 1973. He resides in West Terre Haute, Indiana, with his wife Rayetta and two children.
