Head Women’s Basketball Coach | July 20, 2020 - Present

Scot MacAllister was named the Head Women’s Basketball Coach on July 20, 2020.


Professional Experience

Prior to joining the athletic department at SMWC, MacAllister most recently served as an Assistant Coach for the Centre College Women's Basketball program in Danville, Kentucky. Prior to taking that role in 2014, he was also the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Russell County High School (Ky.) From 2013-2014, the Head Girls 9th and 10th Grade Coach at Kentucky Blast AAU from 2010-2013, and the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Logan County High School (Ky.) from 2005-2013.

He was the recipient of the 2013 National Federation of High School Spirit of Sport and 2013 Kentucky High School Athletic Association Spirit of Sport Award. These awards are aimed to honor the pride, spirit, and selflessness of programs found within the community, district, and high school.

Scot's coaching experience extends back to the early '90s and to the west coast as he also coached Women's Basketball in California at Kings River Community College (1991-93), Dinuba High School (1998-99), and Corcoran High School (1994-98, 1999-03).

His wealth of coaching experience is met with numerous awards as his time in California yielded 11 State Sweet Sixteen appearances, nine League Championships, two State Elite Eight appearances, and one State Final Four finish. He also earned League Coach of the Year, was named Valley All-Stars Assistant Coach twice, and Valley All-Stars Head Coach. While at Centre College he recruited and coach 17 All-Conference award winners, 26 All-Academic Honor Roll recipients, and two 1,000-point scorers.


Personal

MacAllister earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership & Supervision and Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from California State University.

Scot enjoys watching college football and spending time with his wife Lori, their three children, and three grandchildren. They are expecting another grandchild this September. A native of Warrior, Alabama, they are soon to be residents of Terre Haute, Indiana.
