Tapre Young

In her first season as an assistant coach with the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team is Tapre Young.

Young was an assistant coach at Danville Area Community College from 2020-2022. There she was responsible for recruiting and player development. She coached the 15th ranked player in NJCAA DII when she mentored Dy'Jhanik Armfield.

Also coached Alexis Mobley who was an All-American nominated player during the 2021-22 campaign. During her time at Danville Area CC they experienced 100 percent placement of student-athletes into four-year universities at all levels including NCAA Divisions I, II and III as well as the NAIA.

They defeated the No. 5 nationally-ranked Parkland Club in the Regional Tournament during the 2021-2022 season and the team advanced to the Regional semifinals for the first time in over a decade. The captured the Regional Championship that season and made a National Tournament appearance finishing as the No. 8 team in the nation -- a feat that was accomplished for the first time in school history during that magical season.
