SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team fell to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Monday in the Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic. The Pomeroys fell to the Fightin' Engineers, 85-58, to move to 2-4 on the year.

Sophomore Callan Taylor was SMWC's lone double digit scorer with 10 points, as SMWC struggled to get going offensively and was held under 70 points for the first time this season. Senior Ja'Breena Gardner led SMWC with 5 steals, while junior Tara Parmer led the team in assists with four. Junior Jordyn Lloyd led the team in rebounds with seven. 

RHIT jumped out to an early lead and never let it go, as they outscored the Pomeroys 19-7 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw more of the same with the Pomeroys being outscored 18-10 to go into halftime trailing 37-17. The Pomeroys' offense got going in the second half with 19 points in the third and 22 points in the fourth. SMWC outscored RHIT, 22-21, in the fourth but it was too little too late as the Pomeroys fell 85-58.

The Pomeroys will be back in action on December 3 when they host USCAA foe Berea at 2 p.m. in Hamilton Arena.
