Parmer has Career Night, #PomeroyWBB Falls to OCU

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team fell to Oakland City on Thursday night in Hamilton Arena, 127-89, to move to 5-12 on the year.

Sophomore Tara Parmer led four Pomeroys in double figures with a career-high 34 points. Parmer also grabbed a team-leading 12 rebounds to earn her sixth double-double of the year. Senior Ja'Breena Gardner scored 19 points, while sophomore Callan Taylor contributed 17 points and junior Jordyn Lloyd added 11.

The Pomeroys got off to a slow start in the first quarter, falling behind 33-11 and then 72-39 at halftime. In the second half, the Pomeroys picked up the pace and scored 22 and 24 points in the third and fourth quarters compared to OCU's 25 and 30, but in the end fell  to OCU 127-89.

The Pomeroys will be back in action this weekend when they head to Andrews University for games with Silver Lake on Sunday and Andrews on Monday.
