Box Score SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind.-- The SMWC women's basketball team battled Berea College tonight at 7:00 p.m. The Pomeroys surrendered their second victory to the Mountaineers this season 111-76.
Game Flow
Early on, the Pomeroys tough defensive play caused problems for the Mountaineers who shot the ball 27.8% in the first quarter. SMWC trailed 21-17 after they went 100% from the free throw line and knocked down seven shots from the field. In the second quarter, Berea College outrebounded the Pomeroys which gave them multiple second-chance point opportunities. The Pomeroys found themselves down 40-32 at halftime. In the third quarter, BC pulled away from SMWC, after they scored 41 points in the 10-minute span and shot the ball 76.2% (16-21) from the field. By the conclusion of the fourth quarter, SMWC gave up the victory 111-76 despite having nine player's score. The Woods forced BC to commit 24 turnovers, yet were outrebounded 67 to 36.
