SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology battled in the Wabash Valley's historic Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic tonight. SMWC lost 91-55 while RHIT inched closer to tying the all-time series. Currently, the Pomeroys hold a 13-12 historic record against the Fightin' Engineers. Brian Dorsett and his wife Gina were in attendance for tonight's game representing Dorsett Automotive, the Crosstown Classic official sponsor.
How It Happened:
SMWC and the Fightin' Engineers were neck and neck early in the first quarter until RHIT held the Pomeroys scoreless for 4:49 seconds. Entering the second quarter, SMWC trailed 24-14. By halftime, the Pomeroy were held to 25 points. However, at halftime, in the first-ever Crosstown Classic Mascot Challenge, Onyx took the victory of Rosie the elephant! Rose-Hulman's offense continued to click in both the third and fourth quarter as they were able to put the game away 91-55.

SMWC will be back in action on Monday, December 3rd against Earlham College. The following weekend they will be on the road at the MacMurray Invite where they will face Greenville College and MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill.
