Women’s Basketball Suffer Tough Loss, Fall 48-83 to Midway

MIDWAY, Ken. – The SMWC Women's Basketball suffered their toughest loss of the season in a 48-83 defeat to Midway University this afternoon. The loss was the team's first in the conference as they still sit at a 7-3 record overall. The team was led in scoring by Alison Hardiek and Aliyah Williams both with 14 points.  
By the Numbers
  • Hardiek and Williams led the team with 14 points as the only double-digit scorers. They were followed by Avalee Jeffers with 7 points.
  • Hardiek and Jeffers both pulled down 6 boards a piece with Savannah Frye adding 4 more.
  • Williams and Abby Worley led the team with 3 assists each.
  • The team struggled to get going offensively as they went 20-42 from the field and 3-10 from 3-point range. At the line SMWC would go 5-7.
  • Ball control was a challenge today as the Pomeroys would turn it over 38 times to Midway's 16.
