SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) women's soccer team (2-1-0) defeated Defiance College (1-2-0) Saturday afternoon 7-0 to earn their second victory of the season. The Pomeroy offense had a stellar showing, highlighted by a hat trick from freshman
Kennedy Trigg.

1st Half: The Pomeroys would get ahead early and never look back, with an early goal from
Madison Payne. Freshman
Kennedy Trigg had a superb first half, netting 3 straight goals to extend the Pomeroy lead. And a goal from
Kailee Kefer late in the first half gave the Pomeroys a comfortable lead at the break.
2nd Half: The Pomeroys picked up right where they left off in the first half with an early goal by
Kaylee Lowe. The Pomeroys would continue to stay on the attack, with
Maggie Lackey netting a goal in the 63
rd minute to put the game out of reach.
