OWENSBORO, Ken. – The SMWC Women's Basketball team (11-8, 5-7) easily dispatched Brescia University last night 73-50 to snap a four game losing streak. Senior Avalee Jeffers scored a season-high 17 points for the Pomeroys as they look to make a strong push at the end of the season. The team will hope to keep the momentum on their side when they host the 9-9 Ohio Christian Trailblazers this Thursday.
By The Numbers
- Jeffer's 17 points and 7 rebounds led all players on the evening. She was followed by Aliyah Williams with 14 and Brooklynn Jones with 11 to round out double-digit Pomeroys shooters.
- Abby Worley recorded 7 assists as she continues to lead the team now with 77 on the season.
- SMWC had an excellent shooting night from the field going 30-41 and 7-10 from deep. Their 6-12 shooting at the line is still an area for improvement.
