SMWC improved to 5-1 with a dominant 35-6 showing on both sides of the ball at Walsh on Saturday.
The Pomeroys threw for 245 yards and ran for 175 yards, while holding Walsh to 181 total yards of offense.
SMWC started the scoring with a 14-play, 59-yard drive capped by a five-yard rushing TD for
Derron Hazzard, who led the rushing attack with 57 yards on six carries.
Later in the first quarter,
Jeremiah Tosky capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive with an 8-yard rushing TD.
The second quarter was much of the same.
While Walsh got on the scoreboard with a 10-play drive to pull within 14-6, the Pomeroys answered quickly. Hazzard scored from four yards out on a five-play, 60-yard drive about 2 1/2 minutes later. The Pomeroys tacked on a TD by
Patrick Perea with 1:15 to go before halftime.
Corbyn Cleveland led the receivers with 83 yards on five receptions, including a 48-yard hookup with Tosky. The SMWC quarterback was 20 for 27 for 245 yards and a touchdown. He was not sacked all game.
Allen Mahoe III added 56 yards on three receptions.
AK Dumas had three catches for 47 yards and
Devron Johnson had a team-high six receptions for 42 yards.
The Pomeroys' defense was led by Josh Wence, who had six tackles and an interception.
Jordan Foster had an interception for the second straight week.
Jake Skniner had a team-best two tackles for loss.
