The SMWC Equestrian team completed their packed month of events this weekend in Zionsville, Indiana at a Hunt Seat show hosted by Butler University. There were nine teams in attendance including SMWC, Butler University, University of Illinois, University of Notre Dame- Saint Mary's, Indiana University, Ball State University, Purdue University , Taylor University and Earlham College.
The Pomeroys took lessons learned from their first weekend in competition and focused on continuing to polish their skills- allowing the team to walk away as Reserve High Point team both days of the show. Individual highlights include- Halle Minton qualifying for regionals in the Limit Fences, and Hope Gillaspie qualifying for regionals in the Intermediate Fences. Gillaspie is now qualified for four post-season events between the two disciplines.
Now begins a month-long break for the SMWC Equestrian Team. The team will be back in action on November 9th and 10th, with a Hunt Seat show hosted at home by SMWC, beginning at 9 am.
