SMWC and Brescia Battle To 2-2 Draw

SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against visiting Brescia (Ky.) on a rainy afternoon at the SMWC Soccer Complex.

The Pomeroys moved to 2-9-5, 1-4-3 RSC while Brescia is now 5-10-2, 3-4-2 RSC.

Brescia took the early lead at 1-0 in the 11th minute but the Pomeroys would rally back with a goal in the 44th minute on a goal from Hope Donald off the assist from Kennedy Trigg to level the match at 1 heading into the half.

Raelee Everhart recorded her goal in the 59th minute off another assist from Trigg to push SMWC ahead by the score of 2-1. Brescia countered with a goal in the 61st minute and neither team would break through the rest of the way for the 2-2 draw.

SMWC owned a 23-16 edge in shots and a 12-7 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were level at three a piece.

Claire Donald owned the team lead with six shots -- including four of which were on target. Everhart targeted the frame five times while Trigg, Lois Carr and Hope Donald each owned four shots.

Dree Wilson posted five saves to score the draw for SMWC in goal.

One last regular season match remains for SMWC as they will travel to West Virginia Tech on Saturday, November 2. Kickoff is set for 1 pm (ET).
