SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 75-64 home opening victory over Lourdes University on Wednesday evening (Nov. 6) inside Knoerle Center.
Diamond Bryant scored 14 points to tie for the team-lead and posted a double-double with 11 rebounds while adding eight assists to almost have the triple dime.
Brooklynn Jones went over the 1,000 points scored for her career as she added 12 points and was 6-of-9 from the field to go with an assist and a steal.
Destiny Thomas added 14 points as well while
Madison Fueger scored 13 in the win.
The Pomeroys owned a 36-32 edge in rebounding and hit 31-of-64 shots from the field (48.4 percent). They limited Lourdes to just 39.4 percent shooting in the game. Macie Stringfellow led the way for Lourdes with 14 points.
The Pomeroys will travel to Rose-Hulman on Friday, November 8 for the annual Cross Town Classic. Tip-off is slated for 8 pm (ET).Â
