The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods softball team rallied for with three runs - on three RBI singles by freshmen - in the sixth and seventh innings to pick up a 4-3 victory vs. Columbia College on Monday.
The Pomeroys bounced back from a 5-0 loss to No. 11 Baker to get the dramatic win. Freshman catcher

GAME 1
Facing an All-American pitcher for the second straight day, SMWC managed just two hits, falling 5-0 to No. 11 Baker.
Abbi Henderson and Kit Strow had singles for the Pomeroys against Kira Baker, who had a 0.64 ERA last season with 314 strikeouts in 176 innings.
Baker's offense came up with five runs in the first two innings to take command early off

Marin Jacobs tossed four innings of quality relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two.
GAME 2
SMWC left four runners stranded and trailed 3-1 after five innings, but the Pomeroys got the offense going in the final two innings.

Makayla Jackman singled to center and pinch runner
Abby Broughton, who was stealing on the pitch, raced home to score.
Hannah Boardman came up to pinch hit and delivered an single to plate Jackman, tying the score at 3-3.
Summer Rocha (1-1) tossed a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the seventh. Rohrabaugh led off with a single and stole second.
Henderson had a bunt single to advance Rohrabaugh to third. Then Henderson stole second.
Gray singled through the middle of the infield to score Rohrabaugh with the winning run.
Rocha allowed just two earned runs and six hits to earn the win.

SMWC (1-3) travels to Arkansas next weekend to play Wiliams Baptist and Lyon College.
