MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Marko Zolnjan led the way with nine kills but it wasn't enough as the visiting St. Mary-of-the-Woods Pomeroys fell 3-0 to Bethel (Ind.) (25-14, 25-21, 25-23) on Friday evening.
The Pomeroys fell to 14-15, 2-13 WHAC while Bethel (Ind.) improved to to 9-12, 4-10 WHAC.
Zolnjan tallied nine kills on 24 attempts with just two errors for a hitting percentage of .292.
Manase Fetulimoeata pitched in five kills on eight attempts for a .625 percentage while
Bentley Meyer added four kills.
Ethan Martins posted 23 set assists while Meyer and Fetulimoeata pitched in five digs each.
Brycen Yadao had the lone service ace of the contest.
The Pomeroys held a 6-3 edge in total blocks. Zolnjan had the only block solo while
Yammiel Martinez posted three block assists and
Christian Green and
Joseph Szadorski added two each.
The Pomeroys are back in action when they play again at Bethel (Ind.) on Saturday April 6. First serve is set for 1 pm (ET).
