SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team got a pair of goals from
Kennedy Trigg to earn a hard fought tie against visiting Great Lakes Christian on a sweltering Saturday afternoon (Sept. 21) at the SMWC Soccer Complex.
The Pomeroys moved to 1-3-2 on the season posting their second tie of the season by the score of 2-2.
Trigg scored the first of her two goals in the 16th minute off the assist from
Lois Carr to stake the Pomeroys to an early 1-0 advantage.
Great Lakes Christian scored in the 44th minute right before the halftime whistle to level the contest at 1. In the 55th minute, GLC would take a 2-1 lead in the match but Trigg would come up huge for the Pomeroys as she scored off another assist from Carr in the 70th minute to once against knot the contest at 2.
Trigg would post four shots in the match, including three on target to pace the team. Carr,
Chloe Field and Raylee Everhart also had shots on goal in the game as the Pomeroys recorded six on frame and 14 total.
In goal,
Yajaira Jimenez played the first 45 minutes allowing just the one goal and recording a pair of saves while
Blair Pope minded the net for the final 45 minutes and recorded three saves with one goal allowed.
The Pomeroys will host DePauw at 5 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday, September 24th as the continue their season-long, five-match home stand.
