The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods men's soccer team likes the momentum of coming off an impressive 3-0 win against Brescia, but sometimes the real test comes as the Pomeroys try to build off it.
The Pomeroys welcome Carlow on Thursday (2 p.m., SMWC Soccer Field) and Point Park on Saturday (4 p.m., SMWC Soccer Field) as the Pomeroys look to add crucial points in the RSC standings.
The Thursday game will be a Blue Out with fans receiving blue rally towels at entry to the field.
"We are ready. These two games can put is in a very good and safe place for the standings, to be in the top six," coach Abe Tizaf said. "We have to put a lot of work on the Thursday game. It looks like an easy game, but it's not. The last two games they showed up and played well."
In fact, Janvier Ramson was the NAIA National Offenisve Player of the Week with a five-goal performance for the Celtics.
"He's a very good finisher," Tizaf said. "When I see 1-0 against IU East and 3-2 against Midway, there is something on this team. They're fighting, a lot of runners. They can create a lot of problems for us.
Point Park brings a 5-6-1 overall record and a 3-0 mark in the RSC.
SMWC will celebrate its seven seniors Saturday.
" A creative team and a lot of talented players," Tizaf said. "They'll be very challenging for us. We have to find a way. How can we show up and play the game we know?
"It's a tough week for us, but we'll work and do everything that can work for us to get these six points from these two teams."
