Box Score 2 MOUNT PLEASANT, IOWA -- With an 8-0 record, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods women's volleyball is off to the best start in program history following a pair of 3-0 wins Saturday at Iowa Wesleyan University.
  The Pomeroys handed a previously unbeaten Waldorf squad a 25-18, 25-22, 26-24 loss in Saturday's first game of a triangular meet at Iowa Wesleyan.
Amber Doyle paced the Pomeroy attack with 13 kills on just 18 attacks (.667 hitting percentage), while freshman
Jazilyn Davis chipped in 10 kills.
 SMWC then swept host Iowa Wesleyan 25-19, 25-17, 25-13 behind 12 kills from
Hannah Zuege.
"I'm so proud of how far this team has come this past month," coach
Ashley Harris said. "We still have a lot to work on, but we are doing good things. We had outstanding performances today from
Amber Doyle and Jaz Davis to help us defeat Waldorf, and Hannah played well vs. Iowa Wesleyan. We are going to enjoy these wins tonight and get ready for a new opponent Tuesday."

Katelyn Bucy had 30 assists between the two matches to lead the team.
Jocelyn Chavez 21 digs on the day.
 The Pomeroys return home to face Hannibal-Lagrange University on Tuesday.
