The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball team has placed four student-athletes on the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as announced this week by the national organization.
Alex Hernandez,
Isabel Hansen,
Leishmarie Virella and
Alondra Garcia Alicea all picked up academic all-district honors.
Additionally, Hernandez has advanced to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America honors which will be announced on January 14. Hernandez was a First Team All-River States Conference selection. Hansen was tabbed a second team all-conference selection as well.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Hernandez will represent SMWC on the ballot.
