EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's cross country teams enjoyed a standout morning at the Angel Mounds Invitational hosted by Southern Indiana on Friday, October 18.
Thomas Chapman headlined the efforts for the teams with an 8k run of 24:53 which shattered his personal best and school record time which he has set and reset over the previous two meets. Chapman finished 15th in the men's race to lead the charge.
On the women's side, the Pomeroys finished 16th and were led by
Quinlan Teague who finished 85th and covered the 6K course in a time of 24:44. That time was also a personal best and the fastest by a SMWC cross country runner in over two years.
Jonathan Hayden came in with a time of 28:16 to finish in 177th place while Ethan Dehamer covered the course in 29:57. Nathan McIntryre recorded a time of 30:56.
Rounding out the women's times from the race are
Deborah Murphy with a time of 26:25 to finish in 118th place and
Brinlee McCloud finished in a time of 27:22 for a finish in 133rd place.
Gwen Garman finished with a time of 28:05 which was good enough for 145th place.
Emma Lynch posted a time of 29:57 for a 150th place finish.
The Pomeroys return to action on Saturday, October 26 when they travel to the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Mich.
