Coming on the heels of an all-conference performance at the River States Conference Championships, senior Thomas Chapman of the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's cross country team has advanced to the 2024 NAIA Cross Country National Championships. The event will be held in Columbia, Mo., on Friday, November 22 at 10:30 am (CT).

This year's field comprises 22 automatic qualifiers and 14 at-large berths. A team may qualify with an automatic berth by winning its conference championship meet or as the runner-up in the championship meet provided the conference has 12 or more schools and the runner-up is rated in the top 30 of the final NAIA Men's Cross Country rating, In addition to the team qualifiers, 80 individuals qualified for the championship based on their scoring finish at their respective conference meet.

Chapman was the top finisher for the men's team with a time of 25:20 en route to a ninth place finish and a spot on the all-conference team at the RSC Championship.
