LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's basketball team picked up an 81-61 road victory over Simmons (Ky.) on Tuesday evening (Nov. 12).
It was the third straight win for the Pomeroys as they improved to 3-2 on the season while Simmons fell to 1-4. SMWC will travel to the Moody Bible Classic where they open against East-West University on Friday, November 15 at 5 pm (CT). They will face off against Moody Bible College on Saturday, November 16 at 3 pm (CT).
Greg Jenkins scored 19 points to pace the offensive attack which included five double figure scorers. Shon Tupoula scored 14 points and added nine rebounds while
Caleb Iheukwu added 13 points and eight rebounds. Andre Irvin, Jr., posted 11 points and
Taeron Hogg tallied 10 points.Â
SMWC hit 31-of-65 shots from the field (47.7 percent) and connected on seven 3-pointers. Irvin, Jr., hit a trio of trifectas in the win.Â
Taray Howell posted five assists and three steals while Jenkins added five assists as well.
