Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) soccer team fell to Franklin College on Wednesday evening, 4-0. The loss moves the Pomeroys to 1-3-0 on the year.
The scoring started early on Wednesday at Faught Stadium, as the Grizzlies got on the board within the first minute of play. All four of the Grizzlies goals came in the first half as sophomore Georgie Macy was forced to defend against eight shots on goal.
In the second half, the Pomeroys were able to keep the Grizzlies off the board. The defense tightened up for SMWC as freshman Shannon Sonderman, who replaced Macy as goalie, was only forced to make two saves in the final 45 minutes of play.
Offensively, junior Kylee White registered the only shot of the night for the Pomeroys.
The Pomeroys will be back in action on Saturday at the SMWC Soccer Field when they take on NCAA Division III Hanover College in a 2 p.m. start.
