LINCOLN, Ill. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College volleyball team fell to Lincoln Christian on Tuesday night in Lincoln, Ill., 0-3 (18-25, 15-25, 23-25). The #8 Pomeroys are now 14-12 on the year.

Junior Brylie Riddell led SMWC's attack with seven kills, while freshman McKenzi Kumpf added five kills. Freshman Mary Alvanos recorded 16 assists, while sophomore Madeline Howes notched 12 assists. Defensively, freshman Autum Loughead recorded four solo blocks and one block assist.

Sets one and two found the Pomeroys trailing early and unable to pull within striking distance. Set three saw SMWC pull out to a 14-9 lead, however, late kills by LCU and attacking errors by the Pomeroys allowed LCU to come back and claim the 25-23 victory to sweep the Pomeroys.

The Pomeroys will be back in action on October 23, when they head to Marian University in Indianapolis. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
