#PomeroyWSOC Steals OT Win Over Oakland City

SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (Women's Soccer) --  After just one minute in the second overtime, Yadira Castellanos scored the game winning goal for SMWC on Wednesday afternoon. The Pomeroys defeated Oakland City University in a double overtime barn burner with a score of 2-1.

With the win, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College improves to 3-3. OCU drops to 1-7.

SMWC's other goal was scored by Hannah Miller at the 31:21 mark off an assist from Ashleigh Pflum. Corre Matherly was a wall in the goal for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College as she racked up nine saves.

Mikayla Wargel scored the Lady Oaks lone goal at the 69:42 mark. Sydney Brooks and Carson Departee split time in the goal. Brooks came up with two saves and Departee finished the day with five.

The Pomeroys will return to the SMWC Athletic Fields on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. when the team takes on Anderson University.
