Box Score SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Coming off a 2-1 loss against Kaskaskia College on Friday, the SMWC women's soccer team battled Brescia University this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. EST. Despite leading 1-0 at halftime, the Pomeroys gave up three goals in the second period to lose 3-1. The Woods will look to get the first win of the season on Saturday, September 1st against Lake Forest University.
How It Happend:
- Ashleigh Pflum scored her second goal of the season at the 32-minute mark to give the Pmoeroys a 1-0 lead
- Impressive passing by Paige Buckallew and Haley Shuler tallied each play an assist on the Pflum goal
- Pomeroys defense gives up three goals in the second half at 46:33, 57:09, and 81:46.
- Corre Matherly concluded the match with seven saves and multiple incredible blocks
