ANDERSON, Ind. - The Woods women's soccer team is still searching for its first win of the season after a 7-0 loss against Anderson University last night. The Pomeroys gave up an early goal after which the game went downhill from that point on. SMWC will have the opportunity to redeem itself this weekend against Holy Cross College.
How It Happened:
- Corre Matherly is on pace to break the single-season saves record previously held by Frieda Cripsin (2002-03) as Matherly is averaging 12.4 saves per game
- Matherly tallied 15 saves in last night's contest
- Offensively, Anderson outshot SMWC a whopping 40-to-1
- There were three yellow cards issued during play with two given to Pomeroy player's Ashley Jezik and Elizabeth Reel and the other give to AU's Rachel Millford
What's Next?
SMWC will travel to Notre Dame, Ind. this weekend to take on Holy Cross College. First touch will begin at 12:00 p.m. EST.
Looking Ahead
Next week, the Pomeroys will head to Eureka College and host both Kaskaskia College and Earlham College.
