Pomeroys Fall 2-1 to Brescia in Season Opener

OWENSBORO Ky. -- The SMWC women's soccer team kicked-off the 2019 campaign on Saturday afternoon in Kentucky against the Bearcats of Brescia University. The Pomeroy's comeback fell short as they lost 2-1.

How do you feel your team handled the pressure of the home opener?

Head Coach Craig Hendry said, "We battled hard and we defended well for long spells. Megan [Benefiel] made some fine saves and we had created a couple of good opportunities ourselves. A great shot from Alexis put us right back in the game, but we just came up short."

The Pomeroys look to bounce back from their season-opening loss when they travel to take on Rose-Hulman this Friday at 6:00 PM EST.
