Box Score 2 SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – With over 100 fans in the stands, social distancing, and facial coverings were in full effect tonight as the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College volleyball team (1-1) hosted Oakland City University (0-3) for its home opener! SMWC took the victory in 3-0 sweeping fashion against the Mighty Oaks.
The Highlights
- The home opener served up to be a huge night for junior Riley Kinney who had a double-digit kill performance tallying 10 kills on 21 attempts.
- Kinney notched 17.0 points and concluded with a .238 kill percentage.
- Senior Katelyn Cotter issued 26 assists to seven (7) separate teammates, found her way to four (4) kills, and 12 digs.
- Junior Alexis Woodburn continued producing for the Pomeroys as she tallied seven (7) kills and raked in seven (7) digs.
- Pamela Dorman, Evelyn Arreola, and Alyssa Hill, combined for 30 digs.
By the Numbers
- SMWC outscored the Mighty Oaks 56.0-to-28.0 in three sets.
- The Pomeroy offense concluded its match with a .090 kill percentage on 111 total swings.
- SMWC tacked 55 digs and 35 assists, which was backed by efforts from multiple players.

SMWC volleyball will hit the road on Friday, September 25 as they travel to Campbellsville University for a 7:00 p.m. ET serve. The Pomeroys will play at Gosser Gymnasium, in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
