Box Score 2 The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods men's volleyball team traveled to Mount Vernon Nazarene for a two game series this weekend. The Pomeorys would lose both matches to the Cougars, dropping Friday's match 3-0 (25-17,25-17,25-23) and Saturday's match 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-16).
The Pomeroys' tough WHAC schedule continued as the Cougars are currently receiving votes in the NAIA national polls and came into the weekend atop the conference standings.
Julian Green led the team in kills in Friday's match with 10 of the team's 26 kills.
Connor Orrock led the team in assists with 16 of the team's 24 total assists.
Zon Mendiola had 10 digs followed by
Andrej Lindner with five digs.
Jacob Wisniewski,
Jalen Noveda, and Orrock each has four. Orrock had the team's only two service aces on the night.
Mark Zmojdzin,
Christian Green, and Orrock all led the team with six kills apiece. Orrock finished with 12 of the team's 20 assists followed by Wisniewski with six. Mendiola and Zmojdzin each had an assist.
Orrock led the team in digs with nine, followed by Mendiola with eight. Zmojdzin had six digs,
Josh Stembridge had four, Wisniewski had three,
Yammiel Martinez had two and
Anioma Njokanma and C. Green each had one.
Orrock had two service aces and Zmojdzin had one service ace.
The Pomeroys dropped to 2-13 overall and 0-10 in WHAC play. The Pomeroys return to action on Tuesday Feb 28 as they host Wabash College, it is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
