RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team finished third at the IU East Invitational among a field of 12 teams. The tournament was held at the Highland Lake Golf Course.

The Pomeroys trailed only host IU East and Trine for the third place finish. SMWC carded a second round of 311 after an opening round score of 327 for a total of 638. IU East won with a two-day score of 621 while Trine posted a mark of 627. Hanover was fourth behind the Pomeroys with a two-day tally of 653.

Renea Jaeger finished the event in fifth place by posting rounds of 76 and 78 for a total of 154. Sophie Boyll was 13th with scores of 82 and 78 for a total of 160. Macie Shirk had rounds of 84 and 76 -- also posting a total of 160 to tie for 13th. Bailey Barker was 28th with scores of 89 and 79 for a total of 168. Claire Thompson was tied for 35th with rounds of 88 and 85 while Kristin Pagach was 36th with scores of 85 and 89.

The Woods returns to action on Sunday, September 8 when they host DePauw at Idle Creek.
