Women's Golf & Bailey Barker Sweep Alice Lloyd College Fall Invite Championships

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team picked up the team championship at the Alice Lloyd College Fall Invitational while Bailey Barker was the individual champion at the event.

Barker followed up her opening round of 80 with a 76 on day two to finish with a total of 156 which win the event by five strokes over Tristan Watson from Ohio Christian University.

As a team, SMWC shaved 10 strokes off their opening round score of 331 by firing a 321 during the second round for a total of 652 which topped second place finisher Thomas More College by 46 strokes. Rio Grande was third with a two day score of 701 while Ohio Christian posted a tally of 744 -- good enough for fourth place. The field was rounded out by host Alice Lloyd which posted a score of 936 in fifth place.

Right on Barker's heels was Renae Jaeger who posted a pair of 81's for a total of 162 which was six strokes off the lead and tied for third place. Sophia Boyll posted a round of 84 to follow her opening round score of 82 for a total of 166 which was fifth.

Macie Shirk tallied an 80 on the second day of play following an opener of 88 which was good enough for a score of 168 and a finish in seventh place. Kristin Pagach tallied a 10th place finish with a scores of 90 and 86 for a total of 176. Emily Vandall's pair of 91's was good enough for 13th place in the field.

The Pomeroys are back in action on September 23 and 24 when they travel to the River States Conference Preview in Daniels, W.V.
